‘Think Bigger’ with Large Format Digital Print

Some exciting news this month was seeing our three page feature ‘The Collaborators’ published in Think Bigger magazine, celebrating the print and display work we carried out in collaboration with Outside Studios and Pat O’Leary Environmental Graphics for the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire.

‘Think Bigger’ is a campaign geared towards the creative industry to help them 'think bigger' - by considering whether wide format digital print can help devise solutions that are new, original and innovative and, seeks to encourage greater communication between creatives and print companies.

We worked closely with Outside Studios who design and develop museums, science centres and leisure attractions along with Pat O’Leary Director of Pat O’Leary Environmental Graphics to help bring to life Roald Dahl’s writing hut which was located in the garden of his house and, to re-fit the biographical gallery in the museum dedicated to the author and his work.

The work we produced involved printing onto a variety of different media - MDF for a giraffe, which was routed out to shape in two pieces around 4 metres tall, green-tinted perspex to create a reflection in the window of Dahl's hut and printing onto a textured stucco digital wallpaper that had a brick effect to recreate the roses that were growing up the brickwork of his original hut. We also hand made books in our bindery and used our cardboard engineering skills to create a display of boxes which were stuck to the wall.

Danny, our Director at MJ Group was interviewed for the article.
